Mexicali Bulimba channels the lively ambiance of Nobles Beach's party institution all the way to Brisbane's suburban landscape. Inspired by the vibrant city of Mexicali, the rooftop restaurant / bar combines urban industrial elements with the colourful zest of Mexican culture. Drawing from the Hacienda vernacular, Mexicali expresses colour and tactility. Locally manufactured light fittings throw soft lighting across the variety surfaces; stucco, concrete, cement render, hand made terracotta tiles and commissioned touch points by Australian artists. Custom designed communal tables surrounded by booth seating bring a balance of a place to have a dance, share a plate of tacos and throw down some margaritas. Surrounded by lush plantings of the exterior Mexicali overlooks the main strip in Bulimia, Oxford Street and Bulimia Memorial Park bringing a vibrant offering to the suburbs.
